We started making these pretty little Celtic Shamrock Buttons this year. They are perfect for many types of Crocheted and knit projects! Here is a quick and easy heart pin using these buttons and a simple Heart Appliqué Pattern that would be cute for St. Patrick’s Day.
Level: Beginner
Materials:
- Size F Crochet hook
- Small amounts of worsted weight yarn in choice of colors.
- Shamrock buttons found here
- Pin backs.
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Heart Appliqué:
Row 1: Ch2, SC in 2nd CH from hook. CH 1, turn (1)
You can use an H hook for these hearts and the come out as the perfect size for a cozy appliqué.
‘If you want to add a contrasting color, attach as shown below. Then slip stitch around the entire heart. Fasten off. Tie off in the back to secure and use one of the tails to sew on button. Weave in ends of contrasting color behind button.
Use one of the tails from the heart to sew on the pin on the back.
And there you have it!
Here are some other ways you can use them....
